When you fold enough petals, use a toothpick to separate them a little.

Cut a piece of white fondant like on the left and fold it around the pistil.

Make desired number of flowers and then start making stems, one at a time. You will need 2 pieces of green fondant like on the right for that.

Wrap smaller part around the bottom of the flower and place the longer part over it. Press it with your finger and start rolling it back and forth, gently, until it comes together.

Make a bow, and that’s it. After it dries, the bouquet will become very fragile. Move it VERY carefuly!

Marija, your genius is showing! :)Great tutorial! I have tried working with fondant only once, and it was awful; it’s surprising to me because I am an artist by nature, I can draw and sculpt with great attention to detail. You make it look so simple, perhaps I should give it another try…

Not sure am going to eat those beautiful pieces :-P To think why I never try it out even though I’m incline to arts… :-P For now, I have to bookmark your tutorial for ‘future’ use :-) Keep up the wonderful work… by chance you made cakes or pastry for sale or… opened a cake shop?

These fondant flowers are impressive. You really need an artist’s eye, and hand, to make these come out so beautifully. I simply don’t have the skills, either to make the flowers or give a tutorial. Very nice!

  • Maggie March 17, 2009 6:34 am

Both are beautiful! I really like that you made the roses without using fondant cutters.
