Dough:

80 g butter
1 pinch of salt
40 g sugar
200 g flour
5 eggs
340 ml water

Boil water with salt, sugar and butter. Add flour to the boiling water and stir until it’s smooth. Remove from heat and stir in eggs, one at a time. After the dough cools down, make hearts with your decorating bag on greased and floured baking pan. Bake in a preheated oven on 175°C.

Cream:

1 bag vanilla pudding powder (50 g)
500 ml milk
1 vanilla bean
1 Tbsp butter
40 g sugar

Dissolve pudding powder in 4 Tbsp milk. Add sugar. Boil remaining milk, reduce heat and pour pudding in, stirring continuously. Cook 2 more minutes on very low heat and then stir in butter and vanilla. Let cool.

To assemble, fill hearts with pudding and top with woodland strawberry slatko.

So this is up for tomorrow nights dessert and I’m really looking forward to making it, looks like fun! :) I have this wonderful preserve made from vishnje that I bought from an international food store that tastes just like something my tetka Mita used to have us kids go pull the vishnje from her back yard orchard and then make her delicious perserves in large vats with 5ft tall paddles right in her driveway… ah sweet memories lol:)Just a quick question, I’m so in love with the vanilla filling from the Egyptian torte that I was wondering if I can use it for this recipe as well or does it need to be more of a traditional pudding? Thanks again!

Beti, I guess it will be better with homemade cream such as that for the Egyptian cake.

Well that’s good news because I used up the last of my pudding packets for the ice cubes I made a couple weeks ago.
